Our Healthier Home: Building an Off-Grid, Passive HouseWe purchased our dream 15 acres of land near Ruapuke, just out of Raglan, around the middle of 2020. To share our journey in building an off-grid, Passive House, we decided to create a mini documentary series.
Throughout this process we will showcase like-minded, sustainable businesses involved in the construction of our home. We hope to inspire people with our sustainable, off-grid lifestyle and help others witness the clear benefits of a high-performance home, so they too can find ways to achieve the same. Craft Homes have been building high-performance, eco homes for years now and we are so pleased to have the opportunity to live in one ourselves. In the first episode of the series, we talk about the “Why” behind our move from Auckland to Raglan, and about the design elements that have gone into our Passive House. We also talk to experts about the current state of housing in New Zealand.
